“Smog falls like a shroud and like many before her, a young girl comes in from the cold”
In 1953 Ruth Ellis had it all, the youngest manageress of a gentleman’s club in London’s West End, Ruth had the money and lifestyle that she had always dreamed of. However, by 1955 she had lost it all and was the last woman to be hanged in Great Britain.
An atmospheric setting and haunting melody of Billie Holiday permeates this captivating play and will transport you back to a world that has long since changed and to a society that Ruth so much wanted to be a part of but never really was.
