THE ALEXANDRA PLAYERS TO PERFORM 1951 BROADWAY PLAY BY JOHN VAN DRUTEN

2019 marked the centenary of Bauhaus – one of the most famous architectural movements of the 20th Century. We pay homage to the movement through our publicity for this production.

The Alexandra Players are currently deep into rehearsals for their next production – the 1951 Broadway play by John Van Druten – I AM A CAMERA.

Adapted from Christopher Isherwood’s novel Goodbye to Berlin, which is part of The Berlin Stories, I AM A CAMERA looks at Chris – a struggling young writer whose latest novel, concerns the events that occur around him in 1930’s Berlin. Sally Bowles, a singer/actress, who works in a Berlin nightclub, befriends Chris and, despite her transient, bohemian existence, her platonic relationship with him remains steady.

This production is the second of our programme for 2019 to be performed at The Alexandra Hall on Bramshot Avenue.

The play will open on Wednesday 29th May for 4 nights only and the box office will open this weekend.

You will be able to book your tickets via the WHAT’S ON page of our website.
